Junior Golfer

 

Presented by – Wrekin Golf Club. The winners name is entered on a board at the top of the stairs in the clubhouse.

Qualification - 18 years of age on the 1st of October in the Current membership year.

Format - 18 hole medal played over 5 rounds. Best 3 nett aggregate scores to count.

Handicap Limit - 0 - 28, allowance – Full 

Tie for 1st place – Card play off for individual rounds. 18 hole playoff for the Overall trophy. 

Entry fee – Free

Prizes – Winner of each round. Overall winner / Overall runner up.

 

Vardon Trophy

 

Named after Harry Vardon, winner of 6 Open Championships and a U.S open. Vardon played in a challenge match against George Duncan on 15th October 1910, the Shropshire Challenge Bowl was played for at Wrekin on the following day.

Qualification – 18 years of age or under as of 1st October In the current membership year.

Format – 18 hole medal.

Handicap limit – 0 – 28, allowance – Full.

Tie for 1st Place – Card playoff.

Prizes – Winner / Runner up.

 

Camps Putter

 

Named after former Junior Organiser, Brian Campion. Originally played over 4 rounds best 2 out of the 4 rounds.

Qualifications – 18 years of age or under as of 1st October In the current membership year.

Format – 18 hole medal played over 4 rounds Best 2 aggregate rounds nett.

Handicap Limit - 0 – 28, allowance – Full.

Tie for 1st place – Card playoff for individual rounds. 18 hole playoff for the overall Trophy.

Entry Fee – Free.

Pat Stroud Trophy

 

Named after the former honorary Secretary. Played during Easter holidays as a Stableford competition.

Qualifications – 18 years of age or under as of 1st October In the current membership year.

Format – 18 hole Stableford.

Handicap limit - 0 -28, allowance – Full

Tie for 1st place - Card Playoff

Entry fee – Free

Prizes – Winner / Runner up.

 

D.B.Richards Cup

 

Named after and presented by Former Captain of Wrekin G.C. This competition uses the bogey format and is contested during the Whitsun holidays.

Qualification – 18 years of age or under as of 1st October In the current membership year.

Format – 18 hole Bogey.

Handicap limit - 0 / 28, allowance – Full.

Tie for 1st place – Card playoff.

Entry Fee – Free.
